On August 10, 2024, the international peace organization HWPL hosted the ‘Peace Educator Training for Religious Leaders.’ HWPL organized this training to help religious leaders develop their qualities as peace education teachers, actively promote peace initiatives in their communities, and lead their congregations to become peace citizens.
HWPL Peace Education is designed to cultivate peace citizens who embody the values and spirit of peace. HWPL proposed peace education as a means to pass on a beautiful world of peace to future generations and is implementing the ‘Peace Educator Training Program’ for educators worldwide.
This training plans to create a special supplement on religious peace education to help religious leaders deeply understand the importance and necessity of peace education. Additionally, through the Advanced Course, an in-depth study will be conducted using university-level textbooks on peace education. Leaders will collaborate with HWPL to plan and carry out religious or peace projects deemed necessary in their local and religious communities.
Through this training, religious leaders will cultivate qualities as peace educator, actively promote peace initiatives, and widely disseminate educational programs that integrate religion and peace. This will nurture many peace-minded citizens within the community.
The ‘Peace Educator Training for Religious Leaders’ will be conducted five times in total, starting on August 10 and continuing every Saturday until September 7. A graduation ceremony will be held the following week after all the training sessions are completed.
